30.01.2007: The Project Danube Bridge 2 Starts Today
The project "Building of New Combined Bridge (Road and Railway)
over the River Danube near Vidin - Calafat" starts today after
the signing of the contract for independent projecting and building
supervision and the contract for projecting and building. The ceremony
attended the Minister of Transport Peter Mutafchiev, parliament deputies,
the Head of the Delegation of the EU Commission in Bulgaria Michael
Humphreys, The Ambassador of The Republic of France Yves Saint-Geours,
and The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain Fernando Arias Gonzalez.
The independent supervision
upon the building, and the projecting control will be carried out by
the consortium between the French company INGEROP and the British Firma
High - Point Rendel. The contract was signed by the Deputy Minister
of Transport Vesela Gospodinova and the Head of the Board of INGEROP
Christian Delage.
The Spanish company FCC Construction S.A. was approved as an executor
of the projecting and building of the second bridge over the river Danube,
near Vidin - Calafat. On behalf of Bulgaria the contract was signed
by the Deputy Minister of Transport Vesela Gospodinova and on the part
of Spain by the Regional Manager of FCC Ignacio Ruiz Larrea Aranda.
